The Broad Stage

Santa Monica

The Broad Stage at the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center is a state-of-the-art facility housed within a striking, modern architectural landmark. Inspired by Italian "horseshoe" theaters, yet conceived in an absolutely contemporary vernacular, The Broad Stage is an artist’s dream and an audience’s delight. Unlike any performance space in the country, this theater is enormously intimate even though its auditorium holds about 500 seats. Critics call it acoustically astonishing which makes it very appealing to visitors around the world and a contemporary representative of our city's motion picture legacy. Theater shows, dance, film, operas, musicals, symphony and chamber orchestras are presented on one of the city’s largest proscenium stages. Located in the heart of Santa Monica, the Broad Stage profits from using the city’s excellent public fiber optic infrastructure and is therefore the perfect stage to host our live streaming event TEDxFulbrightSantaMonica.
